Entry requirements
Costa Rica is accessible to citizens of more than a hundred countries without a prior VISA request for stays not exceeding 90 days (the list of countries in question is available on this page).
Nevertheless, each traveler must be able to prove to the migration agents (and sometimes to the airline company) that he/she has :

a ticket for continued travel or return to their country of origin within 90 days,

an economic solvency of 100,00 US$ per month,
-
a passport in good condition with a validity of at least 3 months.
SPECIAL EMERGENCY MEASURES (COVID-19)
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, new requirements are imposed on tourists wishing to visit Costa Rica:
1. Complete a digital health form (or "Pase de Salud").
Available on the website https://salud.go.cr, the "Pase de Salud" must be filled out by each traveler no earlier than 72 hours before boarding.
2. Purchase mandatory travel insurance covering quarantine accommodations and medical expenses due to COVID-19.
The Costa Rican government allows tourists to choose to insure themselves with any international or national company that meets the following requirements:

Each traveler must be able to provide a certificate issued by the insurance company, in English or Spanish, mentioning the above coverage. This certificate must be uploaded on the website https://salud.go.cr when creating the Pase de Salud, allowing you to receive your QR Code, sesame to return to the country of Pura Vida!
